Overview

Regen Coordination is an evolving alliance of Web3 organizations united in collaboration to drive ecological, social, and economic regeneration. Through innovative programs and collective action, we help empower a global network of people and communities to realize a better future.

In partnership with Celo Public Goods, Gitcoin, ReFi DAO, GreenPill Network, Let’s Grow DAO, The BioFi Project, Open Civics, and other key collaborators, Regen Coordination has helped to raise over $200,000 for local regenerative communities, bioregional organizing teams, and regen citizens over the past six months. This includes two key funding rounds, live today for Gitcoin Grants Round 22 (GG22) on Celo: Regen Citizens Genesis and BioFi Pathfinders.

Coordi-nations: A New Paradigm for Global Cooperation

At the heart of Regen Coordination lies the concept of Coordi-nations or 'Network Nations', an innovative approach to global cooperation. Unlike traditional network states, Coordi-nations focus on interwoven networks of communities that operate on mutualism, collaboration, and distributed decision-making. These communities come together through shared values and participatory governance to pool resources for greater impact.

Web3 & Regenerative Finance : Transforming Economic Systems

ReFi's core principles involve the reimagining of economic systems away from extractive and exploitative outcomes, towards models that support the holistic wellbeing of people and planet. Utilizing advanced technologies like blockchain, digital measurement, reporting, & verification (dMRV), and AI, ReFi aims to channel resources to projects that aim for systemic change and positive impact. Current Programs & Partnerships

🌱 GG21 & Regen Coordination Genesis

The GG21 Regen Coordination Genesis Round served as the official launch of Regen Coordination, aiming to support a global movement of regenerative Web3 communities and catalyze collaboration. With a $50,000 matching pool, the round invited applications from ReFi DAO Local Nodes, GreenPill Local Chapters, and Celo Regional DAOs. With further funding committed towards a retroactive program in Q1 2025, GG21 was just the beginning.

👥 GG22 Regen Citizens Genesis Round

The GG22 Regen Citizens Genesis Round is a joint initiative between GreenPill Network, ReFi DAO, Let’s Grow DAO, and Celo Public Goods. Focusing primarily on these organisation as a starting point, the aim of this program is to empower and recognize builders making meaningful contributions to the regenerative movement on Ethereum. To participate during GG22, applicants must be nominated or invited by a Core or Guest Organization - see Nomination Process. The round is live now, with the application period running until October 22, 2024, and donations open from October 23 to November 6, 2024.

🍃 GG22 BioFi Pathfinders Round

The BioFi Pathfinders Round, also live now, is a partnership between The BioFi Project, Open Civics, The Design School for Regenerating Earth, and Regen Coordination. This round is designed to support advanced Bioregional Organizing Teams that are actively developing Bioregional Finance (BioFi) strategies. The goal is to build decentralized, place-based financial governance systems that drive regenerative economies. Teams that demonstrate a deep connection to place, coherent bioregional identities, and strong financial practices have been invited to apply by October 22, 2024. The donation period runs from October 23 to November 6, 2024.

🗺️ EBF Cohort 0 (Coming Soon)

Starting with six words – Air, Water, Soil, Biodiversity, Equity, and Carbon – the Ecological Benefits Framework (EBF) is an adaptive way to explain impact with a comprehensive yet intuitive visual language. Now, in collaboration with Spark Eco, ReFi DAO and Regen Coordination are supporting the development of Impact Scribe. Built on Web3 rails, Impact Scribe is a tool to help anyone showcase their project’s work using EBF and help unlock new sources of funding. More details on this exciting new tool and a potential upcoming EBF cohort will be shared soon!
